Processing Orders Online

Like many businesses, we're really working hard to be as paperless as we can. There are just too many benefits to ignore. We save on paper, which helps us be a little more "green" and saves on supply costs. We save time. It takes a lot less effort to process, store, and retrieve electronic files. It also helps boost customer satisfaction levels. We're finding that our customers have really come to appreciate the simplicity and convenience of electronic ordering and processing.

In our last post, we talked about digital closing docs. Today, we wanted to share some of our experiences with processing orders online. We've always taken orders by phone or fax, but we started taking orders through our website in February of 2010. Since then, here are a few important observations...

  • In a relatively short period of time, we've gone from 0 online orders to having 37% of our orders placed online
  • We're thrilled with the progress, but our goal is to get 60% of our orders placed online
  • Most of the customers that have tried the online system have converted to process all of their orders online
  • These customers are telling us that they love the convenience of being able to submit an order anytime, 24/7
  • They also love how it simplifies the process by clearly illustrating what information is and is not required to place an order
